The historical, magnificent, nostalgic buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. Thre includes e Ben Tham Market whre victorious purchases are made, e Notre Dame Cathedral, e Post Office, e Building of Arts and the Old-French accomodation buildings.-------------------------------------------
Top: A visit to the morning market of Ho Chi Minh.
-------------------------------------------

Sights in e city.... e streets are always filled with motorcars... esp motorcycles and constant horning... PiPiPohPohBiBiPoh... and crossing e road is a daredevil stunt manz, and we are damn well trained in tis manz...
-------------------------------------------
WAR Museum In HO CHI MINH.. A tour back to e past whre comradeship hails, when sweat and dirt are close companions to soldiers, and danger is e tin tt is expecting them everyday...
-------------------------------------------
Cu Chi Tunnels - An immense network of connecting underground tunnels located in the Cu Chi district of Vietnam, and are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. The underground tunnels have 3 levels and each deeper level is much smaller than the before and they have an entire village within the tunnels manz... Kitchen, living quarters, storerooms. Pretty awesome huh. And the 1st level tunnels are oredi so darn narrow and small and we had to crawl thru on all fours to get thru e underground tunnels and end up getting ourselves all dirty and sweaty.
Top: Exploration on one of the tunnels in Cu Chi. Its cramp and hot inside the tunnel manz and we hav to crawl on all fours. And did i mention, its totally dark inside and u hav to feel your way ard... hahahaha... exciting manz...

Departing from Ho Chi Minh, we travelled up north to Na Trang and stopover for half a day for its scenic beaches and relaxing laid back lifestyle. In coincidence, they are having some festivals gg on, so the beaches are kinda filled with ppl when we went to the ends of it...
Top: Video taken upon reaching Na Trang in the morning. Its a quiet little laid back town with lotsa space, and the ideal word to describe this place is "relaxation".

Departing from Na Trang, we continued our way up north and made a brief stopover at Hoian, a World Heritage site declared by the UNESCO in 1999. A well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, whose buildings display a unique blend of local and foreign influences. Beautiful ancient chinese feel to it
* * * * *
From Hoian, we made our way to the city of Hue, another World Heritage site by UNESCO. e Imperial City of Hue is an imperial ground filled with magnificient architectures and complex monuments. The majestic gates, e emperor's palace and tombs and the royal Citadel, which we visited all of them while we toured the entire city on rented bicycles.Top: We secretly sneaked into the restricted historical royal citadel which the Vietnam flag was hosted on the lead of king, which in the end we got caught and chased out... luckily we didnt get shot down manz... Its like trespassing on a national monument. Darnz, it was scary tt time manz... (Caution-video is shaky, not suitable for nauseous-prone)
-------------------------------------------
Besides the Imperial City, we also toured the rest of the historial city, which consists of a fusion french styled and chinese styled shophouse and buildings due to the vast historical background of the city.

-------------------------------------------Top: Visiting the Ho Chi Minh Masolouem, where the dead body of Mr. Ho has been so well-perserved tt u wud tin tt he is jus sleeping on his comfy bed, very much alive.
-------------------------------------------
Top: A look around the surroundings of Old Quarter, where Traditional styled colonial shophouses still decorate the streets of Hanoi Old Quarters.
-------------------------------------------
Top: Walking on the French District filled with French styled buildings. Its like walking in Paris manz, it makes u so filled with cultural feel tt u wud like to sing one of shakespeare's poems out loud on the streets manz. hahahaha
-------------------------------------------

Named the Bay of the Descending Dragon, Ha Long Bay is located in the Gulf of Tonkin and includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. Most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. Complemented by great biological interest, its outstanding scenic beauty captivated our hearts when we sailed through the imposing rock formations in our junk(chinese sailing boat), accompanied by the natural smoothing sea breezes and soaring sea eagles. We also made stopovers and visited the magnificant rocks and limestone formations in some of its natural caves.
The Junk looked amazing, it was as thou we hav travelled thru time and reached the ancient chinese era where ppl sailed across seas in these boats, exploring the vast world outside. We are like "Zheng He" manz, but a little more modern. hahaha. And the surroundings reminds me of scenes often seen in chinese ancient swordsmans shows.. hahaha..

Aft conquered Vietnam, we flew down southwest to Cambodia and landed our butts in Siem Reap. A super tourisy place with cheap beers, hordes of bars and places tt are just thre to earn tourist monies.
Top: The pub street in Siem Reap... I start some commentary sounding like a stupid idiotic foreigner. hahahahha.... thre are tons of them thre.

ANGKOR WAT
(A World Heritage Site & Wonder of e World)
There are alot of different temples in Angkor Wat, and each of them has its own story and beauty. Well.. Its kinda fascinating seeing them and discovering the story behind each of them.
-------------------------------------------
Top: Reaching one of Angkor Wat's main temple at sunrise...
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Top: Moving from one temple to the other riding on our hired tuk tuk. The dust and sand had us dressing up like ninjas as we travelled on their sandy roads.
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
Top: A tour of the Bayon Temple in Angkor Wat - The temple of faces. The amazing thing here is that each face sculpture is craved separately by different sculpture masters and then pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle to form a complete face. If u look carefully, actually u wud b able to see traces of differences between every slab of stone piece. And from a distance, they look perfectly symmetrical. Amazing huh... The acient ppl are gd jigsaw puzzle experts huh...
-------------------------------------------
Beyond words, Angkor Wat is reli Majestic, Impressive, Magnificant and u reli wonder how did the ppl in the past manage to create such towering monuments and architectures without the sophistication of technology. The steps up the temples are steep till u have to climb on all fours and apparantly rock climb up thre, the rocks are so beautifully craved and placed in symmetrical to make everything fit together to create an entire amazing architectal structure. And each temple is calculated to enjoy the bask of the morning and setting sun. U reli gasp in awe how humans are so darn smart in the past manz.
* * * * *
Aft Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, we travelled to Phnom Phen and linked up with our fellow volunteers from SG and commenced our Campus Impact Outreach program. We visited the Tuol Sleng Genocide Musuem which we gt to know abt Cambodia's historical past and also visited the rubbish dump whre some ppl are living off wat we are throwing in our rubbish bins everyday. Its reli a change in yr perception in life when u see with yr own eyes how ppl r living compare to yr comfy beds and airconed homes..
-------------------------------------------
We hosted the in-school camp for the cambodian kids studying in the volunteer school. Exchanging stories and educating them english by interacting and speaking to them. And they were a whole bunch of warm-hearted kids tt are jus like anyone of us.
-------------------------------------------
We played games against them in soccer and volleyball, cambodia vs SG, and we ended up substituting all our orginal sg players with foreign talents as we were all shacked out aft a while of running and jumping ard... hahaha....
-------------------------------------------
These cambodian kids are darnz playful and gropy... well i mean they like to hug and cuddle u all ard to express their warm and happiness... and ya.. i gt groped, hugged, cuddled, squashed reli much manz...
* * * * *
Aft the student camp in sch, we travelled through the most bumpiest ride in my life thru roads filled with potholes to the rural suburbs of Phnom Phen - Aoral, to commence our 2nd phase of volunteer work. We built a hut with bare hands, hammers, nails, wood and saws to act as a dormitary for e rural students. And building a hut with such stuff only is a reli reli reli big challenge and work.. now i appreciate bangladeshis more and the convienence of technology and electricity manz.. Working from morning till evening. We reli shacked our way thru for the completion of the huts.
Its an awesome experience altogether, working with the most simple tools, pumping water from wells for bathing, having campfires at nite, waken up by the rooster calls at 4am, brushing yr teeth beside cows tt are shitting at the same time. Its jus a simple simple life and once in a while, such experiences reli take out lotsa stress and input lotsa simple pleasures in yr life manz. hehez.

Thailand was our nx stop aft Cambodia and shopping was the main event for the city of Bangkok. We shopped, tailor-made our suits and shirts, toured the backpackers street and also had sharks fin soup in chinatown. All the usual tourist stuff.
Top: A video on the streets of Khao San - The backpackers street. Filled with foreigners and make-shift street stalls selling food, clothes, ornaments and everything else. And not to mention this street operates till the wee hrs of the nite, with pubs and clubs lined up throughout the street tt comes alive at nite.

Krabi was our last stop in the Indochina trip. We rented a 4-wheel-drive and drove oursleves ard Krabi for 3 whole days. Stayed in a deluxe suite and pampered ourselves with comfortable beds, luxurious resort facilities, private pools, sumptuous meals of all cuisines, not forgetting seafood and everything else. We had road trips with our trusty blue 4WD, exploring every places we cud, even drove into the forest to seek out hidden caves and waterfalls, and also nite driving to mysterious places. Its fun fun and jus pure fun.
Top: On board our rented blue shiny 4WD jeep and cruising towards Krabi - Ao Nang Beach.
-------------------------------------------
Top: A view of the clean sands of Ao Nang Beach, where our hotel is located right in front of it.
Top: Our accomodation for the next 3 days, a deluxe suite, with a large bathroom, plenty of spaces to move around in the sleeping area, a cozying corner within the room, a view facing the pool and a front porch balcony where we wud slack out aft our swim, sipping drinks. Coolz.

-------------------------------------------
Top: On board our trusty 4WD, we went for road trips at nitetime, streets were totally dark, relying only with our headlamps and moonlight, we travelled to the ends of Krabi island and explored all wat they have to offer at nite... Its kinda cool cruising in a vehicle at nite, listening to thailand pop filling the interior of the vehicle and looking at lites coming towards u at a distance. hehe.
-------------------------------------------
Becos of our 4WD, we managed to visit lotsa iconic temples in Krabi, Such as the Tiger caves, the monkey monastry, the huge Sleeping Buddha caves. The pics say everything liao huh.. hez...
-------------------------------------------
We oso tried our hand in the live shooting range with shotgun, magnum, and pistol. And we 3 are undoubtly the ace shooters of sg manz. hahaha... We reli had a fun time shooting off these SG restricted weapons manz.. like cowboys in the past.... hahaha....
Top: Shooting with live rounds using the Magnum Pistol. Cool manz... I feel like a cowboy manz. hehehe. the recoil is pretty big oso...
-------------------------------------------
We also boat out to the scenic beaches and islands located ard Krabi, we snorkelled, sun bathed and walked in the seabed from island to island while the tide is low.
Top: On board our snake-tipped boat storming across the sea towards the islands of Krabi and snorkelling sites.
-------------------------------------------
Top: Our boat got into some engine failure in the middle of our journey towards the Krabi islands. With no communications avaliable, we shake our bums and wave our shirts to signal distress. hahaha... We remained floating on the sea for quite sometime, cos its low season then, very little boats out thre. In the end, one boat cruising at a distance caught our signs and towed us back to change a new boat. hehehehe.. And we kinda enjoyed the entire process manz. hahahah...
-------------------------------------------

We reached the beaches of Krabi aft quite a while and without further ado, we all plunged into the pristine clear blue green waters and snorkelled, sun bathed and swam ard... being a tourist is fun manz. hahaha
Top: A view on one of the scenic beaches located on some island in Krabi..
-------------------------------------------
Its jus relaxing and more slacking in Krabi manz. ahahahahaha... gosh i miss indochina oredi manz... hahahaha.....k tts all... enjoy this long article, took me quite some time to prep it.. and mroe updates are coming... A nite scene of my park where i do my nite trainings...nice view rite...
-----------------------------
I am hooked on a Japanese drama recently. Probably the best i have seen so far. One "Litre of Tears", a story crafted based on a true story of a Japanese girl Kito Aya, a girl who was diagnosed with a disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration when she was 15 years old, and was able to continue her life until her death at the age of 25 years old. She kept writing in her diary to remember her experiences until she could no longer hold a pen. Aya simply wished to live until the end of her life, and the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself to not give up. This true account and the contents of the diary became the base of the story. Its a beautiful story, the only drama that cud make me drop tears rather uncontrollably. I have seen it 2 times. and i still weep at those touching parts.. I have always believed dramas and movies provided one with messages tt cud change your life views.. And thus i enjoyed watching them. And this show really communicated a great deal of information. Its a heavy show and the after effects of the show lasted quite long. I cudnt get out of it still even aft 2 weeks. I will b watching it for the 3rd time soon. But not yet.. i nid time to recover abit...
One Litre of Tears Drama...
Kito Aya's Diary...Had been training myself for the past few weeks. Health is precious to someone like me tt have nothing to my name. Getting my body to be fitter, like before.. Engaging in Tennis more regularly.. training myself to b good at this sport. Tts pretty much wat i have done recently. Even went to macritchie reservior to run and hike. Saw pretty much animals tis time. Saw a few tree iguanas, monitor lizards and also sun-skin lizards. We also managed to caught a few squirrels as they acrobat their way up trees, monkeys doing their swings, and riverside birds eating the berries off the berry plant.
The entrance of the HSBC Treetop walk...
